WHAT WE DO: The Conservation Council of NC's non-partisan political action committee, Conservation PAC (C-PAC), takes an active role in the political process by supporting legislative candidates who protect our right to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. C-PAC works to make sure elected officials are protecting our environment, while at the same time encouraging conservationists to play a more active role in politics. Conservation PAC actively:
Conservation PAC raises money for endorsed candidates, provides volunteer support for targeted campaigns, and educates voters about candidates. This is an important election year, and until campaign finance reform is achieved, our impact will be measured in dollars. By raising $100,000 on behalf of the environment in 2004, C-PAC will directly support endorsed candidates and actively engage in target races. By leveraging political funding on behalf of the environment, C-PAC will help build the political clout of the environmental community, and ensure sound environmental decision-making. To do this, we need your help:
