WHAT WE DO:

The Conservation Council of NC's non-partisan political action committee, Conservation PAC (C-PAC), takes an active role in the political process by supporting legislative candidates who protect our right to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. C-PAC works to make sure elected officials are protecting our environment, while at the same time encouraging conservationists to play a more active role in politics.

Conservation PAC actively:

  • Works to hold candidates accountable for their environmental decisions
  • Supports candidates for public office who will protect our right to clean air & clean water
  • Opposes candidates whose policies are destructive to the environment
  • Educates voters and candidates on environmental issues to make them a part of election campaigns.

Conservation PAC raises money for endorsed candidates, provides volunteer support for targeted campaigns, and educates voters about candidates. This is an important election year, and until campaign finance reform is achieved, our impact will be measured in dollars. By raising $100,000 on behalf of the environment in 2004, C-PAC will directly support endorsed candidates and actively engage in target races. By leveraging political funding on behalf of the environment, C-PAC will help build the political clout of the environmental community, and ensure sound environmental decision-making.

To do this, we need your help:

  • ELECT candidates that recognize that North Carolina voters want clean air, clean water, & healthy communities for their families--Vote in every election!
  • DEMONSTRATE that environmental concerns are electoral issues
  • ENCOURAGE all politicians to become more attentive to the environment
  • BECOME a MEMBER of the Conservation Council of North Carolina NOW and financially support C-PAC!
